❓ What is an authorized representative?
An authorized representative is someone who acts on behalf of the employer to complete Section 2 of Form I-9. This person checks the employee’s documents in person and signs off on their authenticity.
💡 Anyone can be an authorized representative—no specific qualifications or experience are required.
❓ Can the authorized representative really be anyone?
Yes. According to the Department of Homeland Security, employers may designate any person (except the employee) to act as their representative. That said, Victory may choose to set additional guidelines based on our needs.
